APJ Abdul Kalam Early Life

At that time, Rameshwaram belonged to the Madras Presidency of British India. His father’s name was Zainul Abedin, and his mother’s name was Ashiamma. His elder sister Johra and brother-in-law Ahmad Jalaluddin also had a lot of influence in his life. Abdul Kalam had a hobby of flying in the sky from a very young age. When Kalam, a teenager growing up on the beach, saw birds flying in the sky, he wanted to fly in the open sky like them. And the funny thing is that the first person to fly in the sky from Rameshwaram was that young man.

His father took Hindu pilgrims from Rameshwaram to Dhanushkadi and again from Dhanushkadi to Rameshwaram. It was his father’s livelihood. Her mother, Ashiamma, was a housewife.

Abdul Kalam had three elder brothers and one sister in the family. His mother was Ashiamma, was a housewife. He was very close to his elder brothers. He used to send some money to his elder brother every month for the rest of his life.

He started his education at Swarz Matriculation School in Ramanathapuram. He completed his general education and obtained a degree in Physics from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli, under the Madras University.

As soon as he graduated from physics, he realized that physics was not suitable for him. The dream path that he has grown up with since he was a child cannot be found at the end of this subject. So he decided to enroll in the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1955. But at that time, he was not qualified to pay the MIT admission fee. Then his elder sister Johra sold her gold jewelry and gave admission money to Abdul Kalam.

While studying at MIT, Abdul Kalam often sat for hours on end next to an abandoned plane parked there in his spare time, reinforcing his dream of flying in the sky. Kalam was not very talented from a young age, but he was a hard worker. Once at MIT, Dean, who was unhappy with one of his projects, threatened to close the scholarship if he could not complete the project within the stipulated time. Hence, he completed the project within three days.

After finishing his education at MIT, His life opened up two avenues. One was an Indian Air Force job. The other was the Director of Technical Development and Production in the Indian Ministry of Defense. Both roads enabled him to fulfill his dream. And he sat down to apply at two at once. And at that time, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam called for an interview from two places. And the place of the discussion was 2000 km away on both sides of India. For the first time in his life, Abdul Kalam traveled by plane. And he was surprised to see his homeland from Akash.

Kalam received a license in the Aeronautical Engineering of the Institute of Technology Madras. Since 1958, he has been a member of the Organization for Investigation and Development of Defense (DRDO). In 1969, the Special Organization for the Investigation of India, under the direction of the SLV-III Project, the first satellite design and production in India, was launched. In 1982, DRDO renamed the program that produced a series of exit missiles, which aided the “Missile Man” episode. Entering these occasions meet Agni, the first ballistic missile of the Indian intermediate, which incorporates the aspects of SLV-III and is born in 1989.

While working at ISRO in 1962, he gained a lot of fame at home and abroad. At the time, he was taken to the US space agency, NASA, but refused to work there. He was also able to build India’s first nuclear missile with the famous Indian scientist Raja Ramanna.

In 1998, India was able to successfully test an atomic bomb for the second time under the leadership of Sir APJ Abdul Kalam. Due to this, he became the most famous and successful nuclear scientist in India at that time. Today, it is for him, but India has succeeded in building a nuclear weapon. His outstanding contribution will never be forgotten.

He returned with two interviews and was the ninth of 25 candidates in the Air Force. He was highly disappointed. He did not go to the Air Force. But a few days later, he got a call from the Ministry of Defense and joined there as a Senior Scientist Assistant. This is where the story of the rise of his life begins. Seeing his talent and dedication to his work, he was assigned to the Indian Space Research Program. From there, he was sent to America to receive training in rocket science. His hands significantly improved India’s rocket technology, and he was given the title of “Missileman,” “Indian Missile Man.” In 1998, India’s first successful nuclear test, Pokhran-2, was a success. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1981, the Padma Bhushan in 1990, and the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest honor in 1996.

He turned 60 on October 15, 1991, and was awaiting his retirement. The desire was to open a school for poor children, teach them there, and preserve in writing the experiences of one’s life that would be useful to people. He was doing the same. 

President of India APJ Abdul Kalam 

  He won the 2002 presidential election with an electoral vote of 922,884, surpassing the 107,366 votes won by Lakshmi Sahgal. His term lasted from July 25, 2002, to July 25, 2007.

He was as President of India from 2002 to 2007, based on the views of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the two largest parties in Congress, India. APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India.

He was never a politician, but he always thought of the country’s development by staying in politics. He felt that only the beautiful effect of the youth could take this country forward much earlier. He liked to spread knowledge among the people. He loved to pass on the lessons of his life to the younger generation.

APJ Abdul Kalam Death

He was invited to a speech at a college in Shillong, Meghalaya. While speaking at 8.30 am Indian time, Shortly after his speech, he sat down on the stage to talk. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was transferred to Bethany Hospital. At the age of 83, at 6.45 am on July 27, 2015, at Shillong he died due to cardiac arrest.

From the age of eight, Kalam Sir would wake up at 4 in the morning and then take a bath and go to the local teacher to learn arithmetic. He took this bath so early in the morning that the teacher he was studying with would not teach a child who would come to him in the morning without taking a bath. Besides, that teacher used to teach free morning arithmetic to 5 children every year, including Kalam Sir.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s father was a boatman by profession, and he used to rent boats to the local fishermen. He has to start working from an early age to support a large family of parents and five siblings.

He was the Defense Adviser to the Indian Minister of Defense from 1992-1999. At that time, the Vajpayee government successfully tested the atomic bomb for the second time in Pokhran, India. India became known as the world’s largest nuclear bomb maker.

In 1972, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was appointed Director of the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization. The same Year, he was awarded a “doctorate” by Anna University. Later that year, a committee was formed under his leadership to develop indigenous missiles. He was appointed as President.

APJ Abdul Kalam was the third President of India to be awarded the Bharat Ratna before being appointed to the President in India. Sir Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Zakir Hossain got this chance before APJ Abdul Kalam.

Conclusion  

He spent his career in the service of the country. At that time, his family had a cupboard of innumerable books and the love of the country’s people. The government and the country’s people were his families; leaving them to marry and start a family did not become his. Seven days of national mourning were observed in India on his death. This great man who dedicated his entire life to the country passed away. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam wanted India will be recognized as a significant nuclear power in the world.
